A frontline PvE character should have above above 550 hp imo

Can you still move on after he is dead? How difficult are these frequent deaths actually making things? I mean, you said you HAD to take him, you also said he doesnt listen and from the sound of it, he might just be alittle dense. If it was me, I would just keep letting him take a nice little dirt nap for being Leeroy while you clean up, then just rez him and say " better luck next try eh? "

Some people need to learn for themselves, and at 13, he should be more then mentally capable of figuring out how to play GW.

BTW, I can VQ with a 7man H/H, ESPECIALLY with my para. I do it frequantlly actually. Log on my wifes war, team up, enter zone, shut down her game. TADA, now Im a 6 Hero team. Just get him to customize his heroes for YOUR needs, and you dont have to worry about him to much. He just becomes another corpse for your MM.

Try what I did with my leeroying son: "Play the game properly or play it on your own, I'm not going to party with you if you keep running ahead when I'm not ready and getting yourself/us killed". He realised I meant it after I quit on him a few times.

It's definitely an age not an intelligence thing, as my son's pretty bright - he's just very impatient and wants to get on with it. If you can work out a build like critbarrage that will allow him to kill things quickly (the bigger the yellow numbers the better) then he might be prepared to play from the midline within reach of you and the monks, but I'm sure you'll find he will want to move between combats very quickly regardless of whether he's front or midline. Putting speed boosts on the party will only make it worse IMO.

Work out some signal that indicates you're not ready to carry on - pinging the map, pinging energy, whatever works. Let him do the leading, you follow along at his speed, and use your signal when it really matters that he waits for you before carrying on. Three ignores of the signal in one mission/VQ/whatever and /ragequit til he gets the message.

If the OP is running SY! properly, the crit scythe should not be dying. In other words, I understand what Billy the Scourge is saying, but don't agree if the sin is with a party member spamming SY!

This is my basic crit scythe bar, and I don't have trouble staying alive with it:

A/D, 12 scythe mastery, 11+1+1 critical strikes, 6 (+1 if you want) shadow

critical agility
way of the master
way of perfection
aura of holy might
ebon battle standard of honor
wounding strike
malicious strike
victorious sweep

Use a vampiric scythe of enchanting (yes, vampiric), and you'll be getting a fair amount of health influx from the vamp mod and way of perfection, and use victorious sweep whenever it seems appropriate.

And you can replace EBSoH (if you're a hater) for something else.

With a proper SY! spammer, that bar HAS to stay alive even in serious HM areas.

RU running hero healers? and is he shadow stepping in? becuase heros follow the owner they may not be in range to save his butt after the initial onslaught he will get from all foes in a group.

seriously, from the replies, you've been getting, it looks like you're trying to teach, excuse me, a dog?!? like, he'll understand when he faces JUDGMENET... cmon, I'm 14, and I can perfectly understand that rushing in be4 the rest of the team, especially if you're going 2 man, 6 heros, is deadly (with H/H its nt such an issue, they're almost always right behind you)... either ur kid-friend is short sighted, or he's just trying to piss you off... (now, this didn't rly help you, did it?)

the best thing you could do would be to make him run crtiical barrage, and for him to be happy, put in critical eye too, so there r more big yellow numbers... and have you looked at your own team build? personally, i find racway highly unefficient, the para heros have alot less heals that a regular monk hero or even a discord necro, and the discord necro can do just as much dmg... sabway is by all means inferior to discordway, have tried it out, its true, especially if you go with an ap caller (not the case, still works if u put in asuran scan + barbed spear)

for him to survive... you could decide to just let him die.... if you have a gd discord way team / any caster-based teams, especially with armor ignoring dmg, you should get along great... the crtiical strikes sin would be a great adition to your team, as casters are, imo, great for dishing out the most dmg, but aoe pressure damage, not one target killing dmg... he would be like, the cleaner of leftovers.... but for that, you can just pluck in a finish him! on your build and a evas...

or just dump him.... if he's rly that useless, tell him to go through the campaigns once solo, and to meet you back when he did that.. should get some experience, especially if he did DD in eotn... not going far away if you dont know how to pull targets to you

My wife was getting on to our 15 month old the other day for throwing a snack on the floor and I ask her if she was going to rub her nose in it.

OP if the kid can't learn how to properly play a front line char let him run the crit barrage build, if he continues to run ahead of the pack and get killed, leave him laying a few times. Surly he will eventually figure things out. At his age he should run circles around you gaming.

I'm a 20 sin, beat factions, EotN, Nightfall, working on prophecies now. I rarely die (know when to retreat). Crict. Stirke is the key. I keep it high for increased crict. hits. Try "way of perfection" (for healing) last 60sec. and heals with each crict. hit. Crict. Def. renews on each crict. hitI use all nightstalker insig. Above all else know when to retreat. Sin are hit & run specialist. Also target the support first, let the team soften up the melee. Keep at it. You will get it (it took me 3 trys as a sin).

I'm not quite sure why the replies kept coming in, but thank you for all the advice. For those of you saying your not spamming SY properly, or that I should just let him die... I think that really it's a bit selfish to just let him stay there dead. All it does is make him whine and give me a splitting headache. Spamming SY isn't a problem for the other 6 people on the team and I'm not going to try and push up to the very back to save him. Doing that gets people wiped. If your running, your not building adren. Also, he has about 600 health and I only just managed to make him weapon swap between fights, so maybe yes, he is a bit dense, but that doesn't mean I can abandon him. I find PvE rather relaxing when he's not around because its so much easier.

Also yes, I'm running a healer instead of racway now. That doesn't save him normally. When I give him hero healers too, its just worse, they attempt to follow him and inevitably die. I did manage to make him run a warrior the other day and he didn't die all that often actually.

Crit barrage numbers aren't big enough for him anymore either -.- since scythe sins pwnzors with bigger numbers or something. I honestly regret ever showing him that build.

Extra notes:
He is incapable of calling with discord, tried it, he failed. Paragon feels gimped when running it.
He can somehow get through NM campaigns? Beats me, but he fails horribly at HM only.
Ragequitting gives me a headache, but it seems to work sometimes. I needa ragequit a few times a day till he's obedient. It's working well enough tho now. Please stop posting now
